Welcome to Third Grade!!

Welcome third graders to another fun filled and exciting school year!  As summer comes to a close I hope you had a lot of fun outside playing, riding bikes, and spending time with friends.  I spent most of my time camping and trying to catch that big prize winning salmon.  Maybe I’ll have better luck next year.

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you as we journey through 3rd grade together.  I expect many great things as we learn and explore new adventures.  We will be learning a lot of new and exciting things this year.  Third graders get to explore the wonderful world we live in by studying nature, wildlife, and how living organisms interact and help each other.  We will learn many things about Alaska and its rich history and culture.  Third graders spend a lot of time reading different types of books, magazines, and newspapers.  You will also be writing in cursive and learning to multiply and divide using 2-digit numbers.  I am so excited about all the wonderful things you will learn.  Every Thursday I will be sending home a folder with graded assignments to go home, any forms for parents to sign, and a weekly letter and calendar of events.

I expect good things from each and every one of you.  I know each of you will work hard and have a great attitude to make this school year a success.  If you have any problems or concerns you can always come to me and talk to me.  My door is always open.  You can reach me by phone, e-mail, or in person at the school Monday through Friday from 7am-4pm, other arrangements can be made to meet at different times if necessary.

I am looking forward to another great year!
